Action permissions and data
Queries and actions execute on the Mac using your SSH account. The latest results are cached in app memory for the current SSH connection, not written as a Services & Docker cache on iPhone. The selected tab is a per-Mac preference.
Starting a service or container can cause that program to make network connections under its own configuration. Its logs and activity are controlled by the Mac and that program. MARC does not provide a separate sandbox for those services.
Find Services & Docker
Open Status, then choose Services or Docker. Status previews up to three rows. All services or All containers opens the full list, where you can search and inspect an item.
Listening TCP ports
See the process name, PID, address and port for listening TCP endpoints on your Mac. Several ports may belong to one process. Whether a port is reachable from another device depends on the listening address, network, and firewall.
For eligible processes owned by your SSH account, open the details and choose Stop process. Confirm before continuing. This sends a termination request to the process and affects all ports it owns. Protected system and SSH processes cannot be stopped here. A background service may start its process again.
Homebrew background services
The Background services list uses Homebrew on your Mac. It does not list every macOS service. Install Homebrew and the services you need on the Mac, and connect using a regular Mac account.
Supported stopped services offer Start; running services offer Stop with confirmation. Start runs the service without registering it to launch at login. Stop keeps any existing registration. MARC rechecks the service state before acting.
Local Docker containers
Docker must be installed and running on your Mac, with its command-line tool available. MARC supports a local Unix-socket Docker connection. Remote Docker hosts over TCP are not supported in this view.
Inspect a container’s name, image, state and status. Eligible created or exited containers offer Start. Running containers offer Stop with confirmation. MARC checks the selected Docker connection and container state before acting. This view does not provide container creation, deletion, logs or restart controls.
Readings and feedback
Services and Docker refresh while their view is active and connected. Last checked indicates an older result; reconnect or wait for a successful refresh before relying on it. An unavailable list is not the same as an empty list.
After an action, read the feedback. A stop request may still be completing, and a service manager can restart a process. Large lists may be truncated; MARC shows a notice when this happens.
